These photograph-viewing pages use Javascript to place the correct images into their spaces according to
the links that are clicked by the visitor to the site. There are only a small number of html pages needed to see all the photos on this site and I don't have to write any more web pages to add another album of photos :-). The captions are stored on a seperate Javascript file and can load onto the slideshow page as you click through. It took ages to work out how to do all that so I hope you appreciate it! The first version only worked with Internet Explorer 5, but I hope the current one will work OK on pretty much any browser. Please tell me if it doesn't!
Now, if you're really interested, here's some of the features of these pages that I'm most pleased about....
You can jump back and forwards from the thumbnail viewer to the slide show and the album you're looking at stays the same.
The random loading of more than 100 thumbnail photos on the opening page (and this one) means they never look the same twice! Just click "refresh" again. And if you click on the photos, they link to larger versions of themselves!
On the slide show, the captions sit in pretty much the correct place whether a vertical or horizontal picture is showing. Took a while to think of how to do that.
That's basically it....
Oh, and I'm pleased you're looking at the pictures. 'Cos although I do quite enjoy this web-programming and photography, there's not much point unless someone actually visits the site! Cheers!
PS. Please e-mail me if you like the site or have any comments/ questions?
